The Ellington/Strayhorn collaboration, lauded since its inception, remains a beloved masterpiece in the world of jazz.
To enhance these performances even further, the Jazz St. Louis Big Band will feature the extraordinary Lena Esparza for the first time. Lena, who comes from a military family, has had the opportunity to travel the globe, infusing her passionate vocal style with unique experiences. Victor Goines, Jazz St. Louis President & CEO, discovered Lena's talent while she was singing at a jam session held at Nancy's Jazz Lounge at Jazz St. Louis. Impressed by her performance, Goines immediately knew she was the perfect fit to be showcased with the Jazz St. Louis Big Band for his holiday specials arrangements.
