A towering force in Afro-Cuban jazz, Chucho Valdés has shaped the genre for more than six decades. A 2025 NEA Jazz Master, he is a seven-time GRAMMY winner and seven-time Latin GRAMMY recipient. From founding Irakere to his groundbreaking solo works, Valdés fuses tradition and innovation with expressive depth.
